Wedding plans dashed as man dies in hit-and-run----BEN.J. LEE KUANG HAWE李光浩

GEORGE TOWN: Lee Kuang Hawe had finally got his girlfriend to agree to marry him, but a hit-and-run accident robbed them both of a happy ending.
The 26-year-old engineer from Penang was run down in Kuala Lumpur last Thursday while returning home on his motorcycle.

It is believed that the incident in Jalan 2/149 in Sri Petaling happened at around 12.30am. Lee’s fiancee Fong Kah Ee, 25, described the former SMJK Chung Ling chess player as caring and considerate.
“For years, he was asking me to get married and we finally agreed to be registered this year. But now I’ll never have the chance,” Fong told reporters at the Rifle Range funeral parlour yesterday.
Lee’s cousin Tan Yin Pin, 31, said a passer-by found Lee’s body partially hidden under a bush in the afternoon, more than 12 hours after the incident was said to have taken place.
However, Lee’s motorcycle was missing from the scene.
“I don’t understand how someone could have taken the motorcycle and left him there. I appeal to the person to return the motorcycle to the police so that they will have a starting point to find out who did this,” said Tan.
She also appealed to anyone who had information on the incident to call the family at 016-4025185 or inform the police.
Lee was riding a black Honda C70 bearing the licence plate number PCA 5534.
